Canada
Do you know of any people / places / hotels / restaurants / bars / guides / resources in this country that you think would be unmissable?
I desperately need your advice, tips and recommendations. What's more, I have a memory like sliced slurry, and whatever you tell me in a drunken fug by the Thames is already gone: I need it written down.
Stick your advice in the comments - pleasepleaseplease, and I'll add it onto this main post as soon as I hit a country with a proper broadband connection...
Cheers, me dears...
I wanted to travel from Toronto to Montreal, to Lake Winnipeg, Calgary, then down via the Grand Rapids and Great Falls to meet the Missouri in the USA. Currently, if I finish up the rest of this trip early, I can get up to Toronto regions around late February 2007 (still the worst time of year possible...):
Janice has agreed to meet up in Toronto, though she thinks I'm mad to go before June.
Jen has agreed to meet up and provide a virtual familiar face near
- The Talking Mountain ranch, on the Fraser river, 80 km north of Lillooet, B.C.; $210 for seven days
- Volunteer for Nature
If you get to Vancouver without a place to stay, The Inn at False Creek is fantastic. I paid £20 a night to stay there (booked online, which may be a problem if you don't have internet access immediately prior to that) in a wonderful room and looked after by fantastic staff (the maid brought me satsumas and shortbread when I arrived, which - after 12 hours of eating airplane food - was fantastic)
